Biography
Olga V. Petrovsky received her B.A. from SUNY Binghamton University, and her J.D. and LL.M. degrees from St. John's University School of Law. Her main areas of practice are bankruptcy law, real estate and trusts and estates. She speaks Russian. Ms. Petrovsky practices in areas of estate planning and administration, civil litigation and bankruptcy law. In law school, Ms. Petrovsky was an Articles and Notes Editor for the New York Real Property Law Journal, a Senior Staff Member of the St. John's Journal of Legal Commentary and President of both the Corporate and Securities Law Society and the International Law Society. Additionally, Ms. Petrovsky was a legal intern with the Federal Trade Commission and a summer law clerk for Judge Pineda-Kirwan. As an LL.M. in Bankruptcy student, Ms. Petrovsky focused her thesis on foreign law avoidance actions under Chapter 15 of the Bankruptcy Code and was a Judge at the 18th Annual Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition. Olga V. Petrovsky holds an LL.M. in Bankruptcy Law from St. John's University School of Law, which she completed in 2010, and a J.D. from the same institution in 2009, where she was awarded the 2008 Albert S. Pergam International Law Writing Competition. She also earned a B.A. cum laude from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2006. Admitted to practice in New York in 2010 and New Jersey in 2009, Ms. Petrovsky has published an article titled "International Antitrust Agreement: Premature Proposal and Practical Solutions" in the 22nd volume of the New York International Law Review. Her professional affiliations include the New York State Bar Association's Trusts and Estates Section, International Law Section, and Young Lawyers Section, as well as the American Bankruptcy Institute, New York County Lawyers Association, and Turnaround Management Association.
